When I was first getting active again (at 18), Dan was Bishop of the Singles Ward. I was quiet and sat in the very back each Sunday for Sacrament meetings and would slip out immediately after. A few weeks in, he caught me and was quick to introduce me to other people, give me a hug and make sure I felt welcome and loved. He continually pushed me to step out of my comfort zone of shyness and helped me to see my self worth.
I have never felt so much love and gratitude for a Bishop/Stake President in my life. He was always there loving, serving and guiding.
His love and service to all whom he came in contact with will always be an inspiration to me in my life and to all of us who had the opportunity to know him.
Love and prayers to all the family

I remember he always called Joyce an angel. I enjoyed learning from him when he taught Sunday school. He will be missed.

Our heart felt condolences go out to the Durrant family at this difficult time. However we rejoice that he is out of pain & with our Heavenly Father and with family and friends on the other side of the veil. Your heart soon will be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
