Pat, I wanted so much to see you at Dan's service today. I was out of town all day and did not make it back on time. I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Dan. You two were high school sweethearts and such a loving couple. I will be thinking of you as you grieve. Jerry and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Love, Lynn

I have thought long about the right words to express our loss of Dan but then realized that his response would probably be a bit of humorous sarcasm, a wry smile, and a sense of moving on. So here goes. Thank you for being a friend, a leader and a role model with your wit, tenacity and spirit. Your nights of carousing ( with Dave and Dominic) followed by successes in school and on the wrestling mat while winning Pat's heart are quite remarkable. You brought honor to Lowell High School, happiness to your friends, and joy to your family. There's no telling what you'll bring to heaven. There is an often expressed wish of, "We should get together." I will always regret the lost opportunity of doing so. F. Scott Fitzgerald thought that life could seem so insignificant and, yet, it was still so special that it could bring tears to our eyes. Now I see that the "insignificance" was everything that got in the way of our getting together, and you were "so special." Again, thank you, buddy.
