Dan Reed

Mr. Daniel L. Reed, age 83, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Dan was born in rural Pulaski County, MO, on July 5, 1939, the son of Noah and Maude Reed. Dan married Pat Fisher in 1959 and Jeannie Bailey in 1978.
Dan grew up in Sedalia, was a graduate of Smith-Cotton high school and attended the University of Central Missouri and Lincoln University.
Dan worked in broadcasting and video production and was an avid runner, cyclist and birder. He thoroughly enjoyed attending any events his kids and grandkids were involved in.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jeannie; daughters, Pam Wurtzler (Dan) and Dana Reed; sons, Jamie Reed (Katherine) and Mike Reed (Shelby); eight grandchildren, Beth Wurtzler (Tom Ryczek), Catherine Foley (Kyle), Rachel Patton (Jeremy), Michael, Gwen, Beau, Jake and Anna Reed; and great granddaughter, Mira Patton.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin daughters, Debra and Donna; sons, Robbie and Chris; his sister, Audrey; and brother, Bill.
Per Dan's wishes, a private family celebration of his life will be held at a later time.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.
