Funeral Services: Will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa, with burial in the Garner Cemetery in Bridgewater. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service. The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements. Open Visitation: Will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Wednesday evening at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Memorials: May be directed to the Dan Tindle Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Danny Wayne Tindle was born March 26, 1955, the son of George and Shirley (Cooper) Tindle in Creston, Iowa. He passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his home in Bridgewater, Iowa, at the age of 68.
Dan grew up in Creston, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1973-1976. His early jobs included working for Wrights Tree Trimming, doing concrete work and farm work for various people.
He started at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield in 1985 when the service became hospital based. He obtained his paramedic license from Indian Hills Community College in 1996, along with two coworkers and was able to upgrade the service to paramedic level. He taught CPR classes and was the Emergency Management Coordinator in Adair County for a short time and retired from the hospital in 2004 for health reasons. He enjoyed Civil War reenacting with his friend Donnie Ruffcorn for many years along with camping, fishing, collecting history books and spending time with grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Harold and Bonnie Ray; daughter, Jessica (Tindle) Olson; brother, George Tindle; and stepson, Jake Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Deb Tindle of Bridgewater; four children, Kiley Hannan (Pat Lilly) of Bridgewater, Colt Johnson (Kelsey) of Greenfield, April Tindle of Creston and Ginny Keasey of Ankeny; fourteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Judy Downard (Scott) of Indianola, IA, Cindy Okins (Gerald) of Independence, MO., Sue Tindle (Nancy) of Whitesboro, Texas; brother, David Tindle of Des Moines; other relatives and friends.
