Dan Unterman, a devoted husband, cherished family member, and respected veteran, passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 60 in Kettering, Ohio. Born on June 18, 1965, in San Gabriel, California, he lived a life marked by service, love, and passion.
Dan dedicated 9 1/2 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable service, he continued his commitment in civilian life, doing the same job until his retirement in December 2023. His work ethic and loyalty shone brightly, inspiring those who had the privilege to know him.
Dan was lovingly nicknamed “LMOTFOTE” (Laziest Man on the Face of the Earth) by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Unterman, who stood by his side throughout their 35 1/2 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, joy, and shared interests. He was also nicknamed by his wife "Mr. Television," as he spent countless hours watching his favorite shows. He also had a passion for playing video games, particularly Destiny. He was an avid fan of the Raiders Football Team as well as the Athletics Baseball Team. His hobbies extended to playing golf, poker, cruises, and traveling to any casino, especially in Las Vegas.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Debbie; his fur babies, Squiggles and Bella; his parents, Joan & Larry Longden and Steve & Adele Knudson; his sister, Jenny & Ryan Chadwick and their children; his aunt, Connie & Sid Rosenbloom; and cousins Margie, Jackie, Kevin, and best friend, Randy Tipton, who will all miss him dearly.
Dan is preceded in death by his beloved fur and feathered babies, including Cuddles, Sneakers, Chewy, Snuggles, Mr. Wiggles, Tigger, Cleo, Sparkle, and Prancer, who brought him great joy throughout his life.
