I first met Dan when we were both working as farmers at Old Sturbridge Village. He had such a way of cheering people up, trying to help them through tough times, as well as working hard in the fields, with the animals, and helping me with chores. He'd come from a troubled time in California, and had mixed feelings about returning. In addition to working on projects, we had many walks together, talking about "things", and how to work through the intricate problems we humans often encounter. I remember you Dan. Always will. I first met Dan around 1981, when he was about 8. I was dating, and later married, his aunt Louise. Louise and I had driven to Chicago to visit her childhood home in the suburb of Willmette. We were to meet her mother and sister, Alison at the Chicago Art Museum to view an exhibit of work by Edward Hopper. Dan was there as well. Dan soon tired of the rather large exhibit, and every time we entered a new room, there was Dan, sitting in a corner with his legs crossed and his head in his hands! The last time I saw Dan was around 1994. He had driven his beater Honda Civic up to our home in N. Billerica so I could help him work on his car. If I recall correctly, we replaced his radiator and brakes. Louise and I got divorced in 1996, and I never saw Dan again. My condolences to his family and friends. Bob Bendix
