YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Dana McGee Conrad, 53, of Old US 421 Highway East passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at her home. She was born July 1, 1970 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Larry McGee and Linda Hayes McGee Baity. Mrs. Conrad held her real estate license and had worked several years as a realtor with Coldwell-Banker Triad Realtors and recently with her husband, Shannon Conrad and Associates in Lewisville. She loved auctions, farming, gardening, working with her Heritage Breed Chickens and Turkeys, and was lovingly known as the “Turkey Lady”. Her greatest enjoyment was her devotion to being a loving homemaker, wife, and mother to her family. She always enjoyed watching their many ball games and sporting events, and being involved with helping to plan their lives for the future. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Braxton Childress. Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Victor Shannon Conrad; her children, Savannah Childress Chapman and husband, Robert; Seth Aaron Childress and fiance’ Abby Brewer, Victor Adam Conrad, Thomas Esta Conrad, and Hunter Logan Conrad; a brother, Tommy McGee and wife, CJ; step-father, Harold Baity; father-in-law, Vic Conrad; nieces and nephews, Caleb McGee, Joselyn McGee, Nicholas Gowder, Marina Gowder, Noah Gowder; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, 5108 US 601 Highway, Yadkinville, NC 27055. A Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Chris Hauser. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Friends Church Cemetery. A time of fellowship and meal for friends and family will be provided after the graveside service at her home, 3656 Old US 421 Highway East, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their gratitude to Yadkin County Emergency Medical Services, Forbush Community, and especially to the Forbush High School Baseball Community for their loving care and support provided to them.
