I crossed paths with Dana for a short time many years ago when she visited John and Pat. I still remember her quiet beauty and gentle nature.

I am so sorry to hear about Dana. To the family I send my condolence. I have sweet memories of Dana when I lived in Galax. Haven't seen Dana in years, but we re-connected on FB. I enjoyed reminiscing with her talking about family and old times.

To all the family of Dana hacker, I am so sorry for your loss .i didn't have the honor to ever meet Dana to my knowledge but when I was reading her obituary I seen where she loved animal's and even took in wild animal's when they were hurt or mabie needed Assistance . That alone tells me what a wonderful, loveing and careing person Dana was. I truly know I missed out on one of the greatest blessings my life could have ever had by never having the great honor of knowing Dana. I to love animal's and could never turn away a stray one or not help an animal that was injured or in need. I have never understood why people kill animal's just for a sport. That animal values it,s life just as much as we do. In dana,s memory I will continue to work more to help all of god,s precious animal's in anyway I possibly can. May God give you all comfort. You are in my prayers .

Please know the family is in our prayers at this most difficult time. Dana was ' one in a million'.

So sorry for the loss of your Mother. She and I were friends in High School. She was a very special lady. Will be lighting a candle for your whole family at Mass on Sunday and sending prayers to give you peace.

What a it was priviledge to know Dana at Fairviw and Galax High and to reconnect with her later. Charles and the family, Iknow that you miss Dana and will miss her from now on, but remember that she is in heaven waiting for each one of you. I pray that you don't disappoint her and miss the reunion that can only be made possible through the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross. We pray for you and pray for the peace that only God can give.

Dana was my Mom's first cousin, so I think she's my second cousin. I got to know her more in recent years through Facebook. She made me laugh hysterically sometimes and I realized I was so much like her. I loved Aunt Katherine so much and so much of the Smith side of my family are united in their true devotion to one another, their depth of love and support for each other, and their love of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I am so very sorry for all of her family and I am still in shock of her passing. May God enjoy her as we all have.
