Dana Hellstrom Obituary
Dana attended school in Anchorage and Crow Creek, Alaska, attending Service High School and Glacier Creek Ski Academy. At age eight she won the Alaska State Championship, for her age group, in the discipline of Salome. Following her graduation from Colorado State University, she returned to teach skiing at many of the resorts in Colorado.
Dana moved to Goose Creek, South Carolina, to assist with the family business, Eckert Insurance Agency, where she managed the commercial insurance division. Dana loved working with her commercial clients, the bigger the better, because they brought so much diversity to her job.
Following the sale of the family business, Dana moved to Boise, Idaho, to be closer to the mountains and the snow she loved. She grew to love not only the mountains and snow, but her dahlias. An avid member of the dahlia community, Dana loved watching her plants grow and bloom.
Memorial gifts may be sent to Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity, Paradise Point Scholarship Fund, 828 W Cherry Ln Meridian, ID 83642. Arrangements under the care of Accent Funeral Home.
