Dana Jansen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Life Tribute Funeral Care - Largo on Jan. 5, 2026.
Dana Jansen (nee Gilliland) 89, passed December 30, 2025, in St. Petersburg, FL with family by her side. Born in Portsmouth, OH. She raised seven children (and helped with grandchildren), volunteered at their schools, and gave sound advice. She was most proud of her work with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission and helping women who needed a hand up. She had a bright, sassy disposition in life, despite the great hardships in her youth. Dana loved playing cards and lunching with her lady friends, volunteering at the Largo Library, Cultural Center and the voting polls. She was an avid reader and loved sitting in a shady spot on a sunny day with a good suspense novel, newspaper or crossword. She was a maker of Christmas, Halloween and birthday magic. Survived by Vicki Ohmer (Keith), Nancy McMullen (Paul), Larry Jansen (Jeannie), Julie Longstreth (Jim), Shari Adams (Bobby), and Terry Jansen, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a great-niece and individuals who called her Mom. Preceded in death by husbands David Hoffman and Bernard Jansen, her mother Delores Bailey, daughter Darlene Sutton, sister Donna Faulconer, niece Lisa Weber. Memorials will be held in Cincinnati and St. Petersburg at later dates. Donations can be made to Veterans or Animal charities in her name. Toura Loora beautiful lady.
