Dana Moran Obituary
Dana Marie Moran, 75, of Rocky Mount, VA was called home on Thursday, May 1, 2025 to start her eternal journey with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 9, 1950, she lived a life of faith, generosity, and devotion to those she loved.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jeff Moran and the daughter of the late Adeline and Evans Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Violet Wynn; brother, Bobby Weaver; daughter-in-law, Kelly Altice; and grandson Nolan Young.
She is survived by her sister, Becky Young; and brothers, James "Willie" Weaver, and Stafford Weaver. Dana was a devoted mother to Jamie, Tony, and Wayne Altice, and Jody Young. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Rhonda, Carrie, Kelly, and Shannon. She deeply loved her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jimmy, Ashton, Abby, KK, Nolan - and her great-grandson, Dorian (Her Little Moon Pie); and very close nephew, Bobby Joe Weaver. She is also survived by her special friends and caregivers, Kim Hodges and Tammy Roach.
Known affectionately as Mom, Nana, Ree-Ree, and Tutta, Dana was the heart of her family. She worked as a school bus driver and hairdresser for over 35 years and was a dedicated member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church, where she also taught Sunday School. She opened her home to everyone and was known for her warm spirit and her famous Cathead Biscuits. She loved time with family, cooking, beach trips, and listening to country and gospel music.
A celebration of her Life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, VA with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Entombment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5 to 8 PM at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and other times at the family home.
