Danette Keadle Obituary

Danette Marie Keadle 1954- 2025 Danette Marie Keadle, 70, passed away February 24, 2025, at her home in Laramie, Wyoming.

Danette was born August 12, 1954, in Dickinson, North Dakota, the only daughter of Alfred and Agnes (Fettig) Schwalbe. She, along with her three older brothers and twin younger brothers, were raised on the Schwalbe family ranch, 22 miles north of Killdeer.

Danette's upbringing of rural ranching led to a lifelong love of nature and animals. It also instilled a tremendous work ethic within her. She relished working beside her parents and brothers in the family's cattle ranching business, and she never forgot her Western North Dakota heritage.

Danette attended Killdeer High School and graduated with the class of 1972. She was honored to be her senior class Homecoming Queen and often reminisced about her years as a cheerleader for Killdeer High. She later attended college at both the University of North Dakota - Williston and the National College of Business in Rapid City, South Dakota. Danette started working for the Bell System in North Dakota and eventually transferred to Cheyenne, Wyoming, continuing her work with Mountain Bell. During her time in Cheyenne, she married William (Butch) Keadle, and they welcomed their daughter Kirsten in 1985. Their young family relocated to Laramie, Wyoming in December of 1985 where she continued to live until her death.

Danette was later employed by Rocky Mountain Capital in Laramie, where she got her start in the insurance industry. She found that it fulfilled her passion for serving others, and she eventually purchased the business in 1992 renaming it Insurance Unlimited to reflect the multiple products her agency provided.

She grew the business through her extraordinary customer service, dedication, and compassion for her clients. She was well known and respected in her industry and the community of Laramie.

Danette served as President of Laramie Soroptimists, Project Graduation, served on the Advisory Board for First Interstate Bank of Laramie and donated generously to various Laramie charities.

In 2024, Danette was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.) She fought valiantly and tenaciously, as anyone who knew Danette would expect her to do. During its inevitable progression. Danette remained at her beloved home in 'The Buttes,' south of Laramie, with Kirsten and generous caretaker Bryant Hoskins by her side.

After nearly 40 years of dedicated service, Danette prepared to transition into retirement, but God had other plans. She continued bravely, always keeping the future of her customers and her beloved Insurance Unlimited at the forefront of her days.

Danette's dedication to delivering the best service and knowledge has been instrumental in shaping Insurance Unlimited into the company it is today. She has guided both employees and customers with her expertise, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

We are honored to continue Danette's legacy and will strive to maintain that same level of commitment to you, our beloved customers.

Her legacy will undoubtedly continue to influence and inspire the employees of Insurance Unlimited for generations to come, and we look forward to the privilege of continuing to serve you with the same steadfast commitment to excellence that she instilled in us at Insurance Unlimited.

Danette wished to say THANK YOU to her friends, family, and customers. Her number one goal was always taking care of you. She loved her industry and strived to make it better, daily. Thank you for all of your love, support, and dear memories.

Danette is survived by her daughter Kirsten Cushman (Miles); her grandchildren, Torin and Eloise Cushman, all of Laramie; her 99-year-old mother, Agnes, of Killdeer, ND; her brothers Dennis Schwalbe (Mary), David Schwalbe (Ellen), Donnie Schwalbe (Claire), Delry Schwalbe and Dale Schwalbe, inherited sister Laura Schwalbe; God Daughter, Jamie Schwalbe; Godsons Dawson and Dakota Poteet; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kirsten and family, I am so sorry to read of your loss. As a client of Danette's for many years, I was privileged to having her to advise me on the nuances of my insurance needs. More importantly, Danette and I always ended up talking in depth about all kinds of things. She was always busy but had time for me.
I will never forget her, and I will always be thankful for her friendship. Ryan Fulton
