Daniel P. "Danny" Albanese

Daniel "Danny" Albanese Sr., 66, of Wilmington, passed away on July 16, 2025.
Born on June 2, 1959 in Wilmington, DE. He was the son of late Michael and Dorothy Albanese. Danny lived a life filled with simple joys, strong family ties, and a love for the outdoors. Crabbing, fishing, boating, and spending time at the beach were some of his favorite pastimes. He had a love for making everyone laugh with his witty humor and never missed a chance to make a joke. As a passionate sports fan, he rarely missed a NASCAR race and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams in football, baseball, and hockey. Danny also loved spending time with his dog, Charlie, who was his loyal companion through the years.
Danny dedicated over 40 years of hard work to Hirsh Industries before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and loyalty.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brothers Bob, Wayne, and Michael Albanese. Danny is survived by his loving sister Joyce DiConstanza (Michael), his children Daniel Albanese Jr. and Lauren Perkins (Bryan), and his cherished grandchildren: Cecilia and Dayton Albanese & Ava and Bryson Perkins.
Danny was also loved by his good friends, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He shared a particularly special bond with his niece Kerry, a connection that brought him joy and comfort at the end of his life.
He will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, his love of family, and the deep roots he planted in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 1 to 2 PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 2 PM. Burial will be privately held.
