Daniel Atkinson Obituary
Daniel Wesley Atkinson, age 80, of Snipesville passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his residence under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
Mr. Atkinson was born December 30, 1944 in Denton to the late Daniel Lott Atkinson, Sr. and the late Mary E. Moon Atkinson. He loved to fish and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by a son, Yancey Duane Atkinson; two brothers, Milton Atkinson, Daniel L. Atkinson, Jr., and Donnie Atkinson; and a sister, Verna Sue Kendall.
Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Smith Carter; brothers, Ronald Atkinson and Billy Atkinson; sisters, Bernice Atkinson and Betty Sue Crawford. Granddaughter, Kelsee Leggett and a great grandchild, Karson Hill; and his favorite cousins, Linda Woodson and Pam Sherrell, and a dedicated friend, Wilbur Dykes.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Denton City Cemetery with Jim Girtman officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
