I am so sorry and so sad to lose Dan, but so happy to have had him as a brother, fellow veteran, and my friend. I looked up to him as a kid, and his unselfish service to our country in the Marines inspired me to join the military. I pray that when I go, I will go as courageously and as heroically as he did.

I did not know my brother Marine Cpl Dan Bailey, but I wish that I had. Without men like this we wouldn't have our freedom, much less a country. First he served our country and then his community, a truly exemplary life of service and dedication. It is said that as Marines, that when we pass, that our final duty will be to guard the gates of Heaven. I believe this to be true. It will be an honor to meet you Dan. Godspeed. As a member of both VVA 349 and DAV 25 I got know Dan better through our mutual participation in the Montgomery County Veterans Honor Guard and Firing Details. It was during this time that we discovered that we shared the same birthday July 15th. Dan was a good man and will be missed. Semper Fi Marine, will see you again when I also pass and together we can Guard the Gates of Heaven.

So sorry to hear of Danny's passing, he has been a staple in my life for years...he bowled with my dad, was an officer responding to a call at my house (not one of my finer memories...more like embarrassing!) and a security guard at MCCC while I attended school and worked there...he will be truly missed!!! Sending prayers, love and condolences. - Rosemarie Whiteley

Danny was truly one of a kind. I still remember when I was just a young kid waitress at Valley's and he and Kathy took me under their wings and taught me the ropes. He always knew the right things to say to make me smile. He will be missed by so many. Love you always!

No words could ever express the sadness I am feeling right now. This was a shock as I did not realize he was so sick. I can only imagine the pain you are going through and please know that my prayers, love and thoughts are with all of you at this time. Danny was a amazing person and I loved him dearly - he always made me smile and believe in who I was. I will miss him SO much. I am truly heart-broken and I only wish I could have told him this before he passed - "Danny thank you for being a part of my life and my families - love you until we meet again - Semper Fi - kick some Marine butt in Heaven"
