Daniel Bargmann

Funeral services celebrating the life of Daniel Bargmann, age 50, of Glencoe were held Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Officiating was Rev. Terry Brandenburg. The organist was Dawn Wolter and the soloist was RaNaye Odegaard who sang “On Eagle’s Wings” and “Amazing Grace”. The congregational hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. Serving as casket bearers were Wayne Karg, Todd Eischens, Karl Herzog, Randy Peterson, Paul Edwards and Ferd Schauman. Interment was in the church cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.

Daniel Vaughn Bargmann was born September 26, 1958 in Glencoe, Minnesota the son of Walter and Lois (Boesche) Bargmann. He was the youngest of six children with one brother passing away in infancy. He was baptized on October 19, 1958 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Glencoe by Rev. A.H. Fellwock and was later confirmed into the faith on March 5, 1972 also at First Lutheran by Rev. M.S. Pohl. Daniel attended First Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Glencoe High School. He began his working career on the family farm and later worked with David Ruzicka Excavating, the Glencoe City Street Department and various construction and trucking companies. On August 12, 1978, Daniel was united in marriage with Wendy Phillips. On June 14, 2002, he was united in marriage with Linda Ramthun. Daniel had been a member of the Glencoe Fire Department for 10 years. He was an avid collector of motorcycles, labs and eagles. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling and many fishing and hunting trips to Northern Minnesota.

On January 3, 2009, Daniel entered his eternal rest at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park at the age of 50 years, 3 months and 7 days. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Mark Bargmann and nephew Chadwick Bargmann.

Daniel is survived by his wife Linda of Glencoe; children Jennifer Bargmann of LaPine, Oregon, Trisha Graf (husband: Ryan) of Glencoe, Mitchell Bargmann (fiancé: Amy Cohrs) of Glencoe; step-children Dean Ramthun of Chaska, Rena Miller (husband: Roland) of Glencoe; grandchildren Tamera and Catera Williams, Blake Hawes, Malayna and Hannah Graf, Aaliyah and Dylan Bargmann; step-granddaughter Alissa; siblings Charlotte Herzog (husband: Dennis) of Litchfield, Fredric Bargmann of Minneapolis, Glenn Bargmann (wife: Sandy) of Glencoe and Steven Bargmann of Glencoe; as well as many other relatives and friends.
