Daniel Benedict Hart L'Ecuyer

1992 - 2023

L'Ecuyer, Daniel Benedict 'Hart', of Webster Groves, Missouri, Fortified with the Holy Sacraments of the Catholic Church, died November 14, 2023, after a long struggle with cancer. He was born December 20, 1992, in Birmingham Alabama. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jerry and Margaret L'Ecuyer, & Robert and Janet Hart, and uncles Mike L'Ecuyer & Joel Hummel. He is survived by his parents Dr. Paul and Kristine (Hart) L'Ecuyer, his sister Dr. Madeline (Dr. David) Hannibal, and brother Michael L'Ecuyer, niece Ellie Rose Hannibal, cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He lived his life through creative writings and counted among his major life accomplishments 13 published books of poetry, short stories, songs, and board games. He was especially proud of The Genie in The Pages, a loving story tribute for his niece. He believed that in a confusing world, the best respite was to be found in whatever it is that leaves serenity in its wake. He was a lifelong scholar who immersed himself in Starbucks coffee, classic literature, reading, and writing. He loved people of all kinds.
He faced his illness with determination, and his faith was an inspiration to all. In the course of his illness, he declined to let cancer define him, and he often said, "there is no use complaining". He always returned to God, sometimes after long absences. He asked God for happiness, and his prayers were answered.
Memorials preferred in his memory to Loyola Academy of St. Louis.
