Daniel Leo Birtwell

Daniel was born on April 18, 1936 and passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. Daniel was a resident of Cherokee, Iowa at the time of his passing. He was a attending Mapleton Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal from 1954-1957 stationed at Oceanside California and served overseas during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Jean. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee Iowa. Pastor Mark Leeds will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee Iowa. There will military rites at the cemetery by L.A. Wescott Post 2253 of the V.F.W. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home.
