Daniel Andrew Bistrican, 28, of Hopkins, SC, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Dan was born April 10, 1994, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of Andrew Bistrican of Pittsburgh, PA, and Jennifer and Thomas Slavicek of Pittsburgh, PA.
He graduated from Northgate High School in 2012 and later joined the US Army where he honorably served his country for nearly four years. Dan was currently enrolled as a student at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC, preparing to earn an associate degree in supervisory management. He was always scheming on how to get rich, diligently thinking how to develop the newest and greatest app or discover an unknown up and coming company to purchase stock in. Dan loved playing and watching sports, specifically the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was very outgoing and immensely enjoyed socializing with friends. Dan adored his family, and he absolutely cherished each moment he spent with each of them, especially his son, Grayson.
Surviving in addition to his father and mother are; his wife, Kristen Bistrican; son, Grayson Bistrican; brother, Adam Bistrican of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Zoe Slavicek (Jake) of Pittsburgh, PA; maternal grandmother, Virginia Peterson of Pittsburgh, PA; maternal grandparents, Glen and Kathy Wissner of Pittsburgh, PA; aunt Maureen Nemec (Brian) of Pittsburgh, PA; aunt Jeri Bauer (Matt) of Pittsburgh, PA; aunt Judy Miller (Mark) of Cranberry, PA; uncle, Paul Bistrican of Pittsburgh, PA; father-in-law, David Collier of Taylorville, IL; mother-in-law, Paula Collier of Taylorville, IL; mother-in-law, Barbara Collier of Metairie, LA; brother-in-law, David Collier of Metairie, LA ; and sister-in-law, Lyndsay Collier of Metairie, LA. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Slavicek; as well as great grandparents, William and Virginia Peterson, Virginia and Jay Wissner, and grand parents Andrew and Ruth Bistrican.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a blessing service immediately following at The Center of Bellevue, 2 North Sprague, Bellevue, PA 15202. A Burial with military honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road Bridgeville, PA 15017, Cecil Township, Pennsylvania at a future date.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family, and will announce further arrangements.
