Daniel Bjerk

D a niel James Bjerk as born a sinner on August 8, 1955, to James Marinus Bjerk and Wanda Mae Bjerk in Benson, Minnesota. He passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 in Lordsburg, NM. He was reborn into eternal life through the sacrament of Holy Baptism in 1955, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, also in Benson, Minnesota.

He graduated in 1973 from Benson Senior High School and went on to Minnesota State University - Mankato where he graduated in 1977. With the urging and guidance of Vasile Barsan, his French professor, he applied for and received in 1977 a Fulbright Scholarship to Romania. Upon return to the United States, he continued his education receiving a Masters in International Management degree from Thunderbird - School of Global Management in 1982.

God blessed Dan with two children - Bjorn Olaf Bjerk born in 1983 and Jamee Elizabeth Bjerk born in 2001 - and a career in international business that spanned 27 years in Phoenix, Arizona, and Clearwater, Florida.

In 2023, was married for a second time to Lisa. To say Dan was happy would be an understatement. The glow he had was undeniable and radiated happiness. Dan had found the love of his life and he and Lisa loved traveling, cruises, family time and worshipping the Lord together.

Although, he has had his share of trials, tribulations, regrets, and failures, but strove to run the good race until the end in hope of winning the prize Jesus has won.

Savior, Jesus Christ, he left this world in the long desired hope to be in the presence of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Mae Bjerk, in 1997 and by his father, James Marinus Bjerk, in 2008.

Services will be held Saturday 2/7 at Christ The Lord Lutheran Church at 1pm. All are welcomed to attend; 2045 N Hercules Ave Clearwater, FL 33763.
