Daniel "Bear" Carpentier, 63, Town of Merrill, went to a clear-cut pine job in the sky on Monday August 5, 2024.
He was born on January 9, 1961, to Josephine (Rubbino) Carpentier and the late Marvin Carpentier. On August 10, 1984, he married Lynette Zocher in the town of Berlin.
For 47 years Dan was a logger, doing the job he loved. He enjoyed many different hobbies that included hunting fox, coon, bear with his plott hounds along with deer hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Dan loved spending time with family whether it was just enjoying time together or playing cards and telling tall tales around the kitchen table. He enjoyed listening to music by the good ole boys; Willie, Waylon, Johnny, Hank and David Allen Coe. He also enjoyed making and smoking homemade venison sausage and most recently buckboard bacon. If you were to ask him, his wife enjoyed dragging him to the casino when really, we all knew it was his idea. There was never a dull moment with Dan with his quick wit and not knowing what was going to come out of his mouth. The morning crew at the truck stop never knew what they were in for.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynette Carpentier. His beloved children, Joseph (Stephanie) Carpentier, Joshua (Jenna Hass) Carpentier, Jenah (CJ) Rickman. His three handsome grandsons that he adored, Tanner, Mason and Maxxis and two beautiful granddaughters, Lexie and Libby. He was also survived by his mother, Josephine (Rubbino) Carpentier. His siblings, Cindy (Artie) Beach, Nancy (Les) Weber, Debbie Carpentier, Kathy (Steve) McDonough and Mike (Jeanette) Carpentier. His mother-in-law, Shirley A. Zocher, brother-in-law, Dennis Zocher and sisters-in-law, Dawn (Victor) Soczka and Gail (Todd) Racino. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Dan in their own special way.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Marvin Carpentier, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his Aunt Gina Rubbino, brothers-in-law Murray (Moe) Eykamp, Craig Woller and sister-in-law Shirley M. Zocher.
A celebration of life will be held at Merrill Eagle's Club on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers please drink a shot of Crown Royal and enjoy nature. Fondly missed, never forgotten and in our hearts forever.
Dan's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Paramedics of the Merrill Fire Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the staff at the Aspirus Merrill Hospital, the Air Medical Team from Life Link III and the Doctors and Nursing staff from St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay for the love and respect shown to Dan and his family during his brief stay.
