Obituary for Daniel Scott "Danny" Cobb

Daniel Scott Cobb, lovingly known as Danny, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 56.

He was born in DeKalb, IL on October 20, 1969, and was a graduate of East Prairie High School with the class of 1988.

Danny was known for his hard work ethic and his deep love for his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his parents, Amos and Doris Johnson of Sikeston, Missouri, and Steve and Linda Cobb of Las Vegas.

He was a devoted father to Kathrine (Josh) Cobb, Daniel Scott (Autumn) Cobb II and Kaylinn Cobb, and a proud grandfather to Owen, Bella, Berklee, Charlotte, Daniel III and Karalee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fleta Jo Brown Johnson, his biological father Pete Ricker, his Memaw Jean Farris, and his sister Debbie Dixon.

Danny was engaged to Martie Cantrell and cherished being part of her family as well, sharing a special bond with Martie's daughters, Falin (Jake) Butler and their sons, Blakely and Nathan and Alexsis (Drake) Cantrell and their daughter, Athena. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph (Amber) Johnson of Bristow, OK; Steve (Angela) Johnson of East Prairie, MO; Rhonda (Skeeter) Phelps of Sikeston, MO and Warren (Trish) Cobb of Las Vegas, NV.

In addition, Danny is survived by a host of cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were blessings in his life.

Danny was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and will be remembered for his smile that could light up a room, humor, and dedication to his family. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2025, at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Visitation will continue on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Victory Baptist Church in East Prairie from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of the McMIkle Funeral Home of Charleston.
