Daniel "Danny" Richard Coleman, 63, of Athens, TN went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2026.
Danny was a talented athlete who played college football at Murray State before fulfilling a dream of playing professionally in the NFL. After his football career, he pursued several paths before finding his true calling as a long-haul truck driver for Covenant Transportation, a profession he dearly loved. Danny also found great joy in spending time with his kids and grandkids. Above all else, he was a man of faith whose love for the Lord guided his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by parents, Billie and Sharon Coleman; sister, Diane VanMeter; and daughter, Janna Coleman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Coleman; children, Joshua (Morgan) Coleman, Jessie (Adam) Conaty, Eli Holliday, and Hannah Webb; grandchildren, Reid, Grant, and Ben Conaty and Finn and Nora Coleman; siblings, Debbie (Ron) Burks and Doreen (Johnny) Jones; brother in-law, Bob VanMeter; and many other loved family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00pm at Temple Baptist Church (2100 Woodrow Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918) . There will be a meal following the service in the fellowship hall.
