Daniel Bruce Crossman, 69, of Tuscola Illinois passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, Illinois. He was born on September 30, 1955, to Robert E. and Peggy (Huber) Crossman. Dan was raised with his older brother in Tuscola where he graduated from Tuscola High School in 1973.
Dan married Nancy (Lucas) Crossman in 1974 and had one son, Marcus. Dan began working for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company where he culminated 34 years of work experience and “Panhandle Stories.” Family and friends loved to hear the stories of comradery, hard work, not so hard work, and who cheated at the euchre games they played on breaks. Dan’s tenure with Panhandle ended abruptly after 34 years when he developed a brain injury in 2005.
Dan’s friends and family knew they could stop by Dan’s house and the garage door would be up if Dan was home and awake. Dan was either polishing up his motorcycle for the next cross-country trip, building his racecar, oiling his guns or visiting with someone. His garage was his home and he always had an open door to friends and family. Dan enjoyed shooting and collecting guns, drag racing, motorcycles, horses, mud drags, and watching Marc’s sports.
He is survived by one son, Marcus (Dawn) Crossman of Noblesville, Indiana; two grandchildren, Marcus Crossman Jr. and Abigail Crossman; a brother, Robert (Trudi) Crossman of Arthur, Illinois; a nephew Kenneth (Emily) Crossman of Arthur, Illinois; and three great nieces, Nellie, Ruby, and Minnie Crossman. Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Tuscola Township Cemetery. The Edwards Funeral Home at 221 East Main Street in Arcola, Illinois is assisting with the arrangements.
