Cuthbert, Daniel

Whitmore Lake, MI

His Legacy… Daniel Thomas Cuthbert, 75, passed away October 24, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1950, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to William Cuthbert and Doris (Guest) Cuthbert. Daniel married the love of his life, Polly Lee, on September 2, 1972, in Brighton, Michigan. Daniel had a 30-plus-years career with the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation department. He played many roles in his career from tree climber to the building and aquatics supervisor. Daniel loved to tinker and repair and refinish old tools and antiques. You could often find him browsing estate and yard sales looking for broken items that he could fix. Daniel belonged to the Wolverine Knife Collectors Club and enjoyed fixing old knives and hatchets. He was a collector of facts, had a curious mind and was an avid reader. Daniel loved to be outdoors and was a hiker, star-gazer and a campfire expert. He was very inventive, joyous and kind. He adored his granddaughters and he taught both of them how to whittle with pocketknives. He also adored his son Ben and daughter-in-law Jessica and spoke of them with great pride. Daniel was a joy to know and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

His Family… Daniel will be missed by his wife, Polly Cuthbert; his son, Ben (Jessica Donohue) Cuthbert; siblings, Mike Cuthbert, David (Laura) Cuthbert; joyous grandchildren, Delaney Cuthbert, Eliza Cuthbert; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Lee; sisters-in-law, Donna Cuthbert, Jane Cuthbert; brother-in-laws, Rick Kramer and Robert Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris Cuthbert; brothers, Gary Cuthbert, Richard Cuthbert; and sister, Nancy Kramer.

His Farewell… Daniel's family will gather privately. Please leave a message of comfort for Daniel's family at 1-877-231-7900, or consider sharing a story, memory or photo on his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
