Daniel R. Dalton, age 73, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

He was born on April 8, 1952, in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Roy Willis Dalton and Betty Jo Dalton. Daniel graduated from Asheville High School and, after graduation, enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country proudly and earned his degree as an HVAC mechanic. He went on to a fulfilling job as a maintenance engineer for several years. Daniel was passionate about collecting coins and was best known for being an honest, loving, God-fearing man.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Robin L. Dalton; his son, Christopher Dalton, and daughter-in-law, Mary Dalton; his daughter, Lindsey Tarrence, and son-in-law, Kevin Tarrence; and his four grandchildren, Kalie, Wesley, Nicholas, and Nathan. He is also survived by bonus daughter, Kassondra Singleton and granddaughter, Jaylynn Brooks; his brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Judy Dalton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Betty Dalton, and brother, Joseph Dalton.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Shannon Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
