Daniel Devlin

Daniel Devlin, 40, passed away on December 23, 2023, surrounded by his wife and brothers.
Dan grew up in Livingston, NJ. He was a talented athlete and wrestled for Livingston High School and club teams outside of school. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S Army and fought bravely in Iraq.
Dan graduated from the University of Connecticut with honors and completed a Master's Degree in International Relations at NYU. He worked at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a commissioned examiner and received numerous accolades throughout his career.
Dan met his wife in 2014 and they lived in New York City together for more than 5 years.
He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, intelligence, and character. Dan loved spending time with his wife Giselle, in the city. He shared a special bond with his five brothers, and he enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends. He had an aptitude for both logical reasoning and creative thinking. Dan enjoyed learning about current events and embraced the arts. From a young age, he breathed life into glass blown figurines, excelled in wood working, and created mixed media paintings. He continued to refine his skills throughout adulthood, building detailed wooden models. Dan also had a passion for film and music and was an early supporter of the Brooklyn music scene. Dan's playful energy brought joy to the people around him. He was always mindful of others' comfort and wellbeing. He was a man of conviction and stood firm on his beliefs in the face of adversity.
Dan demonstrated courage, strength, and tenacity during his cancer diagnosis. He approached his situation with a rare combination of optimism and acceptance and faced his challenges without complaints. Throughout his condition, Dan embodied dignity, perseverance, and hope that will forever inspire us.
He is survived by his wife of two years, Giselle Silvestrini, as well as his mother Cecilia Devlin, and five brothers, Brendon, Andi, Paul, Jake, and Mark Devlin.
Friends and extended family may gather at Memorial Funeral Home on January 5th, 2024, from 10:30am to 12:15pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 12:15pm. Interment of his ashes will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
