Daniel Douthwright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels & Cremation Services on Dec. 9, 2025.
Daniel R. Douthwright, 68, of Charlton, MA, formerly of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. He was born on June 2, 1957, in Springfield, MA, to the late Carl and Mary (Pino) Douthwright. Dan was raised in Springfield and Wilbraham, MA, and graduated from Minnechaug High School in 1975. He went on to earn his B.A. in Civil Engineering from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1979 and later his M.A. in Construction Management in 1981.

Dan met the love of his life, Lori Belanger, and they were married on May 1, 1982. Together, they raised their family in Enfield, CT, and Charlton, MA. He worked as a Civil and Environmental Engineer throughout his career and retired from Babcock Power in 2020 as a Lead Project Manager.

Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing, was a highly skilled tennis player, and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially devoted to his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was also a Superhero buff, with his favorite character being Spiderman. Dan was adored by all the kids in his life, often riling them up, especially with a good water gun fight.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Lori Douthwright; his children, Nicole Gagnon and her husband Ryan of Enfield, CT, and Stephen Douthwright and his wife Catherine of Auburn, MA; his sisters, Pamela Douthwright of Ludlow, MA, Deborah O'Connell and her husband Vincent of Springfield, MA, and Deanna Dahlke and her husband Mark of East Longmeadow, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Elianna and Camden; his sister-in-law, Karen Scioscio of Enfield, CT; and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Cormier of Enfield, CT, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Mary Douthwright, and his best friend and brother-in-law, Daniel Scioscio.

Friends and family are invited for visitation on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT.
