Daniel Dugan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc - Durham on Jan. 5, 2023.
DURHAM: Daniel "Danny" Dugan, 60, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2023 at Hock Family Pavilion surrounded by family after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born in Hamilton County, Ohio to the late Eugene Karl Dugan and Carole Ann Berrier Dugan. Danny spent most of his life in Durham, North Carolina where he attended Jordan High School. Danny enlisted in the Air Force in 1980 and worked as a munitions specialist. During his time he was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo New Mexico and traveled across the US and world, reaching the rank of Sergent. In 1982, Danny married his first wife, a fellow airman, and the mother of his children, now Deborah Wright. After his honorable discharge, Danny went on to receive his HVAC certification from Durham Tech and worked in maintenance at various companies across the triangle.
Outside of his military service, Danny loved good music, especially rock, and would rather be fishing than doing about anything else. Danny loved to crack jokes and was good at it, always keeping people laughing. He was a great cook, enjoyed painting, and enjoyed playing his guitars.
Mr. Dugan is survived by his daughters, Stefanie Papke (Darryl), Liza Dugan; son, Eugene Dugan; granddaughter, Lily Dugan; sister, Dian "Dede" Marie Dugan; and brother, Timothy Dwayne Dugan (Mary), Terrence Ewell Dugan (Mary Threkhold).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 6th at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 7th at Clements Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cure PSP at www.psp.org or The Wounded Warrior Project at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
