Daniel Eicher Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 10, 2025.
Daniel "Dan" Paul Eicher, age 65, of North Lawrence, Ohio, passed away at his home, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Born in Orrville, Ohio, on September 21, 1959, Dan was the son of Robert Eicher Sr. and the late Joan Eicher. Dan will be remembered most for his unwavering work ethic, his loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet integrity that guided his life.

Dan shared his life with his wife, Judy M. Eicher, whom he married on June 30, 2000, in South Bend, Indiana. He was a proud father to Kari (Ryan) Petrie of Raleigh, NC; Nathaniel Eicher of Raleigh, NC; Justin (Natalie) Eicher of Raleigh, NC; Elizabeth (Matt) Jackson of Ashland, OH; and Martin T. Parsons of Wooster, OH. He also deeply cherished his grandchildren - Cheyenne, Landon, Jagger, Gunner, Hadley, Bristol, Emma, Anderson, and Wren - as well as his special niece, Peyton.

Dan spent 43 years with Bekaert Corporation, retiring in 2025 after a career he was deeply proud of as a Process Engineer. He learned his trade through real-world experience, guided by curiosity and determination rather than formal schooling. He took great pride in his work and was widely respected for his sharp mind, tireless work ethic, and genuine passion for solving problems and improving processes.

Outside of work, Dan could almost always be found outdoors. He was most at peace on his land, shovel in hand, working until dusk on his latest project - whether it was digging a pond, carving new trails by hand, planting hops, or designing a flower bed. He had a deep love for homesteading and farming, always curious to learn more and eager to share his knowledge with family and friends.

When he did step away from his outdoor work, Dan enjoyed traveling to North Carolina to visit his children, or taking road trips with his wife. He found joy in watching and talking wrestling and college football, enjoying sushi dinners, and sharing a cold beer with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Judy; father Robert Eicher Sr.; brothers Robert (Cindy) Eicher of North Lawrence, Michael (Rebecca) Eicher of Butler, and John (Beth) Eicher of Canal Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.

Dan's family finds comfort in the promise of Heaven, knowing he is at peace with the Lord and that one day they will be reunited again.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to Dan's heart.
