Daniel Byrne Flynn, III, of Drexel Hill, PA, fondly known as "Buzz" to many, and cherished member of his community who left a lasting impact on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him, sadly passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 66.
Born in Havertown, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Nora (née McCabe) Flynn.
Daniel's educational journey through Annunciation BVM School and Monsignor Bonner High School laid the foundation for a life marked by integrity and purpose, reflections of the devoted individual he grew to be.
He was well-known for his dedicated career as a tree expert, where he not only honed his skills but also embraced the beauty of nature that surrounded him. His work allowed him to connect with the earth and share his knowledge with a variety of clients.
The essence of Daniel's character lay in his spontaneity and adventurous spirit. Daniel enjoyed golfing with his wife, Margaret, and had a particular fondness for all things Irish. He loved listening to live music and was often found sitting comfortably in his beloved recliner, watching Jeopardy, a show he held in high regard. A true enthusiast of Philadelphia sports, he remained an ardent supporter of his local teams.
Family was central to Daniel's life. He created treasured memories through family vacations and made it a point to attend his grandchildren’s sports and activities, demonstrating his unwavering support and commitment to his loved ones. Daniel was particularly proud of his time spent as a little league coach and umpire, shaping the future of young athletes.
Daniel contributed joy and laughter to countless moments, especially during the festive Christmas season when he notably transformed the family home through his creative touch, building train displays and adorning the exterior with lights.
Daniel was the beloved husband of Margaret (née Gallagher) Flynn, the loving father of Tara (Eric), Daniel (Kristen), Kathleen (John), Patrick (Christine), and the caring and proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Mary Grace McArdle (David), Nora O’Brian (Tom), Tony Flynn (Jenn), and Tom Flynn (Heather); as well as his loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Daniel is predeceased by his brother, Mike Flynn.
Friends and family are invited to honor Daniel at a Viewing on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 9:15 AM to 11:45 AM at St. Denis Church, 2401 St Denis Lane, Havertown, PA 19083, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Daniel’s life commencing at 12:00 PM. Interment to be held privately.
