Daniel Gatti, age 68, of Grand Haven, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Louviere, Belgium to the late Alberto and Teresa (Parissi) Gatti. Daniel was married to Claudia Lopez April 17, 2012, in Holland, Michigan.
Daniel was raised in the Republic of San Marino, Italy where he received all his schooling and a bachelor's degree in engineering. In 1976, he immigrated to Michigan and settled in Grand Rapids, later relocating to Grand Haven in 1994. He was employed for over 23 years with Shape Corp. as an electrical engineer, retiring in 2018.
Daniel had a strong faith and a true follower of Jesus Christ. He was most recently active with a local Home Church congregation of believers and was very active in serving in any way he could with Love in Action of the Tri-Cities. Daniel was very talented in working with his hands as a woodworker, carver, renovator and repairman of anything that needed fixing. Some of his treasured renovations he was most proud of were the Jeeps that he completely restored, and taking his family out for wild rides in the woods.
He loved being on or near the lake by walking, boating, or fishing. He was proud to be an American, very patriotic and an avid supporter of serving his community. Daniel was known for loving without limitations and this was shown with his family being the most important part of his life.
Daniel is lovingly remembered by his wife, Claudia; his children: Christina (Gatti) and Chris Henninger, Steve and Andrea Gatti, Dana Gatti, Lauren (Gatti) and Ben Glick, and Nico Gatti; his grandchildren: Logan Gatti, Ethan Gatti, Kimber Gatti, Daniel Henninger, Gilana Glick, Ulrich Glick and one more on the way; his brother Augusto Gatti; and his devoted dogs: Sophie and Olive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alvaro Gatti.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held a date and time to be announced at a later date. A private family interment will be held at the Grand Haven Historic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Love in Action of the Tri-Cities.
