Daniel L. Gillmer

Daniel L. Gillmer, 73, of Sheboygan passed away on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2025 at the Aurora Sheboygan County Medical Center with his family beside him.

Daniel was born on August 18,1952 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania a son to the late Harry and Diana (Scales) Gillmer. After attending schools in Lansdale he entered the U. S. Army and served in Hawaii, Georgia and South Korea. On October 4, 1974, he was united in marriage to Marlene Biederwolf in Honolulu, Hawaii. Among the businesses he was employed with in Sheboygan were Quality State Oil, Festival Foods, and Watson Vending. He and his wife Marlene operated Dan's Subs and Such for a time in Sheboygan. He enjoyed camping and especially cooking on his Blackstone grill. Dan and Marlene also enjoyed visiting various lighthouses along the lakes. He coached little league for the Sheboygan Recreation Dept.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Marlene; his four sons, Warren (Mary) Gillmer, Brian Gillmer, Gregory (Nicole) Gillmer and John Gillmer, all of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Parker, Athena and Teagan; his two brothers, Harry (Sherri) Gillmer and George (Eileen) Gillmer both of Pennsylvania; and his two sisters, Audrey Gillmer and Sharon (Louie) Marquiz, both of Pennsylvania. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and David and a sister, Linda Steigerwald. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Gizmo.

A memorial service for Dan will be held 5 pm Friday, December 5 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service in Plymouth. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South St. Plymouth on Friday from 3 pm until the time of service at 5 pm. Military rites will be accorded following the service.
