Daniel Ivan Graves, age 63, of
Evansville, Indiana, passed away on May 16, 2026, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirited love for the people and experiences that brought him happiness.
In his younger years he worked at Lewis Bakery before moving to Florida to begin his career as an over the-road truck driver. He took pride in his work and in the independence that came with life on the road. His career reflected his dependable nature and his willingness to do what was needed to provide for his family. Even when life became difficult and he became ill, he remained the same steady presence to those around him.
Danny was preceded in passing by his parents Darrell and Ella Graves. Additionally, he was preceded by his brothers Darrel Joseph Graves and Mark Vinson.
Danny was a loving father to Shane Graves and his companion Alexandra Knollman, Ryan Graves, David Hobbs, Nick Baize, and the late Marcus Culverhouse. He was also a proud grandpa to Zane Graves, Lain Graves, Destiny Graves, and Jayden Ritz. His family was central to his life, and he treasured the bonds he shared with his children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Scott Graves and his wife Rose, along with nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
Danny was known by his family as the life of the party, and he lived with no regrets. He had a personality that could fill a room, and he brought energy and laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed NASCAR and loved going to the races, where the excitement and atmosphere matched his own enthusiasm for life. He also played little league baseball with Don Mattingly, a memory that remained a special part of his story and one he carried with pride.
Those who knew Danny will remember his straightforward nature, his sense of humor, and the way he made others feel welcome. He had a gift for making ordinary moments memorable, and his presence left an impression that will not be forgotten. His life was one of movement, family, and enduring connection, and he will be remembered for the joy he brought to others and the love he gave so freely.
