Seeing him in the slow lane on Rt 128 driving a tiny Honda Insight. He practiced what he preached.

I work at the National Academies in Washington, DC and met Dan relatively recently through his participation in a unique initiative our organization put together to tackle tough challenges around how human activities affecting our environment affect human health. He was inspiring to work with and I can attest his work to make the world a better place yielded tangible results. Especially with through professional connections he made happen that will continue to yield results for many years to come. I will truly miss working with him. My sincere condolences to the family for your loss.
