Daniel James Greer

Daniel James Greer, 69, of Augusta, Michigan, passed away on November 19, 2025.

Born with a quick wit and an unmatched work ethic, Dan lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys he loved most. He loved taking a drive about on his side-by-side, he was a fisherman, a hunter, a farmer, a truck driver, and a loyal Busch Light lover who could often be found at The Dock enjoying lunch and good company. His hands were always busy, his humor was sharp, and his friendship was steady and dependable. He lived a life full of things he loved and was unapologetically himself through and through.

Dan was endlessly proud of his family, the Greer family farm, and the family cabin up north—places that held generations of memories and meant everything to him.

He is survived by his daughter Danielle Greer, his son Gordon Greer, and his grandson Cashis Edwards, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his siblings Larry (Marcia) Greer, Barb Greer, and Dale (Debra) Greer, along with too many friends to count. His closest lifelong friends—Gary Segur, Bill Bogue, and Jeff Peters—were like brothers to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Betty Greer.

Dan’s presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, but the legacy he leaves—in his family, his stories, and the land he cared for—will live on.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 24th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle, Richland Chapel where funeral services to celebrate Daniel's life will be Tuesday, November 25th at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow to Day Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
