Daniel W. Hanke

1953 - 2024

Daniel William Hanke, 70, of Hampstead, MD passed away suddenly Sunday, April 14, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD. Born May 29, 1953 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Harvey William and Bertine Elizabeth (neé Templeton) Hanke. He was the husband of Donna Lee (neé Kreft) Hanke, his wife of nearly 47 years. Mr. Hanke was a graduate of Milford Mill High School. He worked as a tool and die maker for A.A.I. for many years and retired from Fairlawn Tool and Die in Westminster, MD. He volunteered for the North East Social Action Program (NESAP) in Hampstead. He loved restoring and building antique tractors. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Jennifer Krug of Millers, MD; grandson, Paul Krug of Millers; sister, Dr. Linda Wilbanks of Abingdon, MD; brothers-in-laws, Terry Kreft and his husband Ron Buchman of Gwynn Oak, MD, and John Kreft of Randallstown, MD; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Rita Reneé Woods. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
