My thoughts and prayers are with Daniel Hartigan family during this difficult time.
I hope that the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our loved ones lost in death can be reassuring.

Daniel was one of the fine Augustinians who made Mendel men both men and gentleman. Though it's been 60 years since we left his tutoring, the lessons remain and we are faithful to the honor he made of our lives. God has blessed him with a long life and a legacy that will live even longer. Till we meet again, Thank You Dan. Bob Appel, Mendel Class of '61 and Chaplain American Legion Post 166.

I picked Father Hartigan up for a family party about four years ago and was immediately struck by how sharp he was. He was telling me stories about my mother and grandmother who were dear friends of his. He was a dear friend of the Redmond family; Tom, Kate, Helen (my mother), Tom, and Kathleen Redmond. He has been a fixture at all the family parties since I was a kid. I always enjoyed conversations with him and greatly appreciated all the visits he paid my mother when she got sick. A real man of principal.

Father Hartigan was a prince of a man. He was a smart, kind man who loved the Lord. A great mentor to many.
He will be missed. I am comforted that I will see him again in glory. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16.
