Daniel Edward Helminski passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his beloved family.

Daniel "Dan" was born on May 22, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After losing his parents at a young age, he spent some time in the care of his grandmother before being raised by his aunt, uncle, and cousins on their family farm in Palmyra, Wisconsin.

While visiting his local sweet shop one day, Dan met the love of his life, Carolyn. The two soon married and built a beautiful life together, raising a family of their own. From then on, Dan was a devoted husband, father, and hard worker. He dedicated his life to providing a stable, loving home for his family-always making sure there was food on the table and a roof over their heads.

For many years, Dan was a well-known and friendly face in the community as the owner and operator of his bar, Danny's, located in Mapleton, Wisconsin. Dan had a special gift for bringing people together, always greeting everyone with a smile and making sure no one ever felt like a stranger.

His commitment to his family was further shown by the house he refurbished in Antigo, a cherished home where family and friends gathered regularly for four-wheeling, deer hunting, and creating lasting memories. The Antigo house reflected everything he valued most-family, friendship, and the beauty of time spent together. It remains a place that continues to hold countless memories and reminders of the love and togetherness he nurtured.

In the final years of Daniel's life, he moved back to West Allis, Wisconsin with his wife Carolyn to be closer to the ones they loved, finding comfort in familiar places and the company of those who meant the most to them.

He is survived by his loving children: Denise Dittmar, Gary Helminski (Kristin), Deanna Beckman (Mike), Danine Schuster. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Jennifer Kerlin, Jeff Bossert (Danielle), Tony Helminski, Danielle Schuster, Zachary Kerlin, Katelyn Schuster, Tyler and Landen Bossert, and countless other family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Helminski; his parents, Edward and Cecilia Helminski; his grandparents Anthony and Lottle Wasielewski; his son-in-law, Mark Dittmar; his grandson, Jeffrey Dittmar; and his best friend, Armin Mueller (BoomBoom).

A funeral service to honor Daniel's life will be held on November 15, 2025 at Church and Chapel Funeral Homes in Waukesha. 380 Bluemound Rd, (Hwy J & JJ), Waukesha, WI 53188. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00pm, followed by the Memorial Service at 6:00pm
