Daniel Paul Henry, 64, of Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on March 29, 2025. Born on June 25, 1960, in Akron, he was the youngest child of Newt & Alice (Dannemiller) Henry. A loving, generous and wonderful man, Dan was a lifelong resident of Akron. He attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and spent his career working at Tide Cleaners, formerly Cavaliers. Dan was an avid golfer, garden whisperer and a passionate Browns fan. He spent summers in Port Clinton. Dan had a rare ability to make life more joyful for those around him. His warmth, generosity, and boundless humor will be cherished always by those fortunate enough to have known him.
He is survived by his beloved siblings, Denise Duffy, Debra Helmkamp (Bill), Diedre Bartemes (Greg), and Andy Henry (Cherrie); a host of adoring nieces and nephews; his devoted partner, Susan Guban (Leffler) and her children, Steven (Kristen + Kai), A.J. (Lindsey), Sarah (Justin). He was preceded in death by his loving parents and brother Bo, whose memory he carried with him always.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Newt Henry Scholarship fund at The St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, https://www.stvm.com/giving/the-stvm-foundation.
