His last professional role at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island as a security officer was a testament to his commitment to community welfare and safety.

Friends and family remember Daniel as a wonderful father, grandfather, and brother, and a kind, gentle soul whose absence is already acutely felt. He was known for his warmth and his ability to truly listen, qualities that made him an amazing father and grandfather. His daughter, Candice A. Heylin, and granddaughter, Samantha J. Soliday, carry forward his legacy of love and compassion.

Daniel was a man of diverse interests; he cherished moments spent reading and had a deep appreciation for music, often expressing himself through playing the guitar. He is survived by his daughter, Candice A. Heylin; his granddaughter, Samantha J. Soliday; and his brothers, Michael Heylin and Mark Heylin. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Heylin, and his mother, MaryAnne Heylin, nee Brown.
