Daniel Horanburg

Daniel Horanburg of Newfane, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at his home. He was born in Lockport, NY, on August 1, 1942, the son of the late Alton and Winifred (LaPort) Horanburg.
Dan was a man who loved to work-whether it was planning out a project or working hard to see it through. He took great pride in the many projects he completed for the Town of Newfane, particularly in Olcott. Beyond the work itself, Dan deeply valued the friendships and connections he made along the way.
When he wasn't working, Dan loved to travel. He spent many winters in Las Vegas, where he always enjoyed visits from friends and family back home, and he especially treasured recent adventures to Africa and Alaska.
Dan is also survived by and will be greatly missed by his daughter, Anne (Scott) Lipp-Read; grandchildren, Zachary (Allison) Lipp, Megan (Tim) Lipp, Luke Read, and Alexis Read; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, including David Hedley, Ted Taylor and Dave Kyser. He was predeceased by his siblings Genevieve Warwick, David Horanburg, Cindy Poole, and Timothy Horanburg. He shared a special bond with his late brother, Tim, and with his daughter, Shannon (Eric) Noonan.
