Ellen Huber, a spirited woman with a love for life and indomitable strength, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Washington, North Carolina, at the age of 80.

Born on June 2, 1945, in Clinton, North Carolina, Ellen was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas "Tombo" Boone and Ida G. Boone. From her early years, she exhibited a zest for life that would define her journey and leave an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

Ellen found fulfillment in her work as a dedicated legal secretary, where her attention to detail and commitment to excellence made her a valued and respected colleague. Beyond her professional life, Ellen's true passions lay in the joy of spending time with her family, the elegance and rhythm of Shag dancing, and the camaraderie found on the golf course. Her love for family was the cornerstone of her life. Ellen shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, Dean Huber, who survives her. Their partnership was one of mutual respect and unwavering support, a beacon of enduring love through life's challenges and triumphs.

Ellen's interests and pursuits reflected her vibrant personality. Her graceful steps on the dancefloor were a testament to her ability to find joy in movement and music. On the golf course, she embraced both the sport and the friendships it nurtured, always seeking to encourage others with her infectious enthusiasm.

Though preceded in death by her dear parents, Ellen's legacy lives on through her son Brent Cobb, son Jerry Boone (Gwenn), and friends who will forever cherish her laughter, wisdom, and warmth. Ellen Huber's life was a testament to the power of kindness, resilience, and joy, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
