Daniel F. Joy

Daniel F. Joy, born on October 4, 1952, in Niskayuna, peacefully passed away

on September 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Residing in Altamont at the time of his

passing, Daniel leaves behind a legacy of strength, care and selflessness that

deeply touched all who knew him.

Daniel's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and

country. He bravely served as a drafted Army Veteran during the Vietnam War, a

testament to his strong character and sense of duty. Following his service,

Daniel committed 41 years to his career as a machinist at the Watervliet

Arsenal, where his work ethic and dedication were highly respected.

A family man at heart, Daniel was a devoted husband and proud father. His role

as a grandfather to three boys brought him immense joy and pride. He cherished

every moment spent with them.

Daniel's impact on his family and community was profound. His caring nature

and selfless actions left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to have

known him. His legacy will continue to inspire his loved ones and serve as a

guiding light for future generations.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Joy, his son John (Debbie) Joy, his daughter

Christine (Darin Jr.) Dixon, and his three cherished grandsons, Daniel Joy,

Roman Gaito and Carson Joy, his brothers Dennis and David Joy, who will

forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He was predeceased by his

brother Darrell Joy. Daniel's life was a testament to the power of love,

dedication and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him
