Daniel Kramar

It is with both a heavy heart and a fond smile that we remember the life of Daniel Paul Kramar, who left us on January 19, 2026. Born on September 15, 1963, in Beloit, WI, Dan led a life brimming with laughter and love. His infectious humor, quick wit, and supportive nature brought joy to all those who had the privilege to know him.

Dan was a man of many talents and interests, including hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, beekeeping and playing cards (when he was winning). His love for these pastimes was only outmatched by his love for spending time with his family and friends. Dan started Durand Garage Door, Inc. in 1998, which would later become a second generation family business run by his son, Joe. Dan retired from the business in 2024.

Dan was a loving father, a loyal brother, and a true friend. Those who knew him well appreciated his easy-going nature, unwavering integrity, and endless patience. He was the comedic relief during tough times and the biggest supporter during life's triumphs.

Dan is survived by his children Joseph (Danielle) Kramar and Kelsey (Jason) Kramar and their dogs; his siblings Michael (Karen) Kramar, Raymond Kramar, Mary Bechthold, Roger (Nancy) Kramar, Brian Kramar, and Agnes Meier. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood Kramar and Agnes Kramar, and his brother, James Kramar. Though we mourn the loss of such a vibrant soul, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold dear.

Please join us to celebrate Dan's life on Friday, February 6, 2026, at with a Memorial Visitation to be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCorkle Funeral Home, 101 West Main Street, Durand, Illinois. As Dan was a man known for his jovial spirit and love for laughter, we welcome you to share your funny memories and cherished stories about Dan on his memorial page.
