Obituary of Daniel Erin Kurz
Daniel Erin Kurz (51) of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away on March 7, 2025.
Daniel is survived by his wife Andrea; brothers William (Jenny), Patrick (Anna), Thomas (Amanda), Nickolas (Kerri); mother Barbara Otterson; father Terry Randall; sons Brandon (Maya) Christensen, Justin Kromrey; aunt Kathleen Tauer. He was a favorite uncle to Thomas, George, Catherine, Samantha, Emilia and Jacob. He was a doting dog dad to his puppies Izzy & Mocha.
Some of his favorite things include golf, fishing, music, concerts, Vikings football and most of all his family. At one point all the Kurz brothers played on the same softball team and a good number of them were in the same summer fishing leagues. Daniel and Andrea participated in a fantasy football league for over 10 years, he only won the league once but boy did he talk about it.
Daniel had a unique, contagious laugh like no other. Hearing his laugh you wanted to be a part of whatever it was that he was laughing about. He was the first to laugh at himself and laugh the loudest.
He was so outgoing and always the first to welcome someone and make them feel comfortable. He always wanted to know how you were doing and wanted to make sure that things were ok. Daniel was always willing to jump in and help with anything.
Daniel worked at Bokers Inc. for 14 years as a shipping assistant and truck driver. While working there, he was an active member of the IUE-CWA Union and served as their Union Steward for three years.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Sunday, March 30th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Hugo American Legion, 5383 140th Street N, Hugo MN 55038.
Please help us remember some of Dan's favorite things by wearing your favorite band, concert shirt or Vikings gear.
