LAUTER

With loving remembrance, we honor the life of Daniel Paul Lauter, who passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in his residence, at the age of 80. Born July 22, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, Daniel was a son of Paul Lauter and Agginess (Barney) Lauter. A pioneer in both his profession and his passions, he lived a life defined by hard work excellence, and an enduring connection to the outdoors.

As one of the original employees who helped design and build Becker Electric, he played an instrumental role in shaping the company’s foundation and long-standing success. His dedication and skill were evident throughout his career, earning him the distinction of Sales Manager of the Year eight times and Sales Representative of the Year twelve times – an extraordinary testament to his leadership, integrity, and commitment.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Daniel was an avid entrepreneur and steward of the land. As the owner and operator of Spirit Wind Farm, he cultivated not only a thriving operation, but also a legacy of excellence in horse breeding. At one time, his farm was home to the number one Paint horse in the world – an achievement he held with great pride.

Daniel was also a respected leader in his community, serving as past president of the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club. His influence and camaraderie left a lasting mark on all who shared in his passion for the outdoors.

Affectionately known as “Bwana”, a nickname earned through his extraordinary skill and presence as a magnificent hunter, he embodied the spirit of adventure. A talented outdoorsman, his trophies told stories of perseverance and mastery, including deer, buffalo, three elk, and two state-record turkeys.

Above all, he will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to excellence, and the way he so greatly inspired those around him. His legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched, the work he built, and the memories he created.

Daniel is survived by his brother Christopher Allan Lauter; nieces and nephews: Kayla Robbins, Jared Robbins, Joshua Lauter, Noah Lauter, Cody Lauter, Emily Lauter, Addi Lauter, and Jacob Lauter; sister-in-law Lisa Lauter.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Agginess; brother Eric “Rick” Michael Lauter; nephews Kevin Kutzley and Jacob Robbins.

Cremation will take place in accordance with Daniel’s wishes. Public services will not be observed.
