Daniel Lindberg Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Springan Stevenson Funeral Home - Stanley on Nov. 15, 2025.
Daniel "Danny" Lindberg, 70, of Stanley, North Dakota, lost his hard-fought battle with glioblastoma cancer and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his home in Stanley, North Dakota.

Danny was born on September 6, 1955 in Powers Lake, North Dakota to Duane and Ellen (Jensen) Lindberg. He attended school in Stanley, North Dakota and graduated from Stanley High School in 1973. After graduation Danny began working alongside his father in life insurance, launching a lifelong career in sales. He also worked a short time in the oilfield field which he enjoyed.

In 1978, he married Shanna Lucy of Powers Lake, North Dakota. Together the couple built a log cabin outside of Stanley and started their family raising two children, Shantel and Chase Lindberg. After his children were born Danny went back to the insurance agency. After preforming top sales with his Aflac team in North Dakota (alongside his brother at heart, Robby Nichols), he became a national agent with Aflac. The couple separated but remained lifelong best friends.

Danny married Karen (Anderson) Lindberg in 2000. The couple lived in Blackhawk, South Dakota for a while before returning to Stanley where they raised their daughter, Kaitlynn Lindberg. Danny founded Innovations with Integrity, an eco-friendly lighting company. In 2005 Danny fulfilled a lifelong dream and became a pilot. He spent many hours in the air flying all over and loved every adventure he went on. He loved taking others in the air with him, and would often be seen with co-pilots of every age!

He enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, hunting, and traveling, including trips to Alaska and Scandinavia. He was known for his humor, generosity, and ability to connect with anyone. He was rarely seen without a smile on his face, a welcoming hug, and a laugh that could hear anywhere. Danny cherished family memories filled with sledding, snowboarding, cliff-jumping, and surprises. Danny was a friend to all, and his life was a testament to love, adventure, and kindness. He had a heart of gold and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his children; Shantel (Ben) Arends, Chase Lindberg, and Kaitlynn (Logan) Fettig; his grandchildren: Moxon and Meadow Fettig, Grayson Lindberg, and Bjorn Arends; sister, LuAnn Lindberg; and many lifelong friends who he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Ellen Lindberg; wife, Karen Lindberg; maternal and paternal grandparents; and many cousins and friends.
