Daniel Joseph Madrill

Daniel Joseph Madrill, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 18th at Ativo Living Center of Yuma with his family at his side. Danny was born on May 13th, 1950, in Yuma, Arizona and was a lifelong resident. He was a 1969 graduate of Yuma High School and a proud Yuma Criminal Alumni. He also attended Arizona Western College. He worked as a cement mason with the local 394 Union. He was a talented cement mason and he and his family were well known in Yuma for their masonry skills. He was also a talented artist and had a huge love for rock 'n roll and Tex-mex music, especially The Rolling Stones and Little Joe Y La Familia. He loved playing the guitar in which he learned to play from his mother. Danny was an avid runner and could often been seen running along the canals with his dog or at Smucker Park. He enjoyed running 5 k's and often won in his age group. He enjoyed dancing, a Coors light beer and having bbq's.
Danny was first united in marriage to Jacqueline Davis and was blessed with a daughter Starr and also gained a step daughter Jennifer Ballard, whom he treated like his own. He later married Patti Barnett and had 2 other children.
Danny will be remembered for his love of music, (sometimes very loud at times!) his long dark hair, dancing, tacos and his calm, soft and gentle demeanor. He had a cool, kind and great loving soul.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents Frank "Chico" Madrill, his mother Conception "Chona" Madrill, sisters Barbara Madrill, Ida Flores, Sylvia Ramos, Catherine Madrill, Elda Badilla, Thelma Sharp and his brother Stephen Madrill.

Danny is survived by his sister Grace Gonzalez of Mesa, Arizona. His wife, Patti Madrill of Yuma,Arizona. His daughter Starr Madrill of Madison, Indiana. His son Patrick Madrill of Yuma, Arizona. His Daughter Danielle Madrill of Yuma, Arizona. His grand-daughter Jade Shepherd (Nathan) and great-granddaughter Landry Kate Shepherd of Lexington, Indiana, many nieces and nephews whom were more like brothers and sisters to him and many cousins.

All family and friends are invited to gather this Sunday December 21st at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1815 S. 8th Ave. in Yuma to attend mass at 11:15am in his honor. There will be no formal services.
