Obituary
Daniel E. Malinowski, 76 of Whiting, formerly of South Chicago, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Sunday, October 15, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. Beloved brother of Judith Lindsey, Edward (late Leonore) Malinowski and the late Suzanne Malinowski; cherished uncle of late LCpl. Robert Lindsey, US Marine Corps, James Lindsey, Suzanne Lindsey-Golab, Michael (Citlalli) Lindsey, Edward (Amber) Malinowski, Jr., William (Bridget) Malinowski, Brian (Kimberly) Malinowski and Richard (Kristina) Malinowski; adoring great uncle of Justus, Alexis, Cassandra, Samantha, Sean, Ava, Alex, Eddie III, Nikolai, Chloe, Ella, Michael, Jr., Katrina, James, Jr., Kristen, Kylee, Joey and Emma.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; interment, St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00pm.; members of the parish will offer prayers at the funeral home on Tuesday at 4:30pm. Daniel Malinowski was born on February 7, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Genevieve (Peterson) Malinowski and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, was a retired warehouseman and a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 710. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Bulls and White Sox fan. Devoted to his family, Daniel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
